This page explains how XCura care plans work, what is included, what is charged separately, and how ongoing-care fees, medications, dispensing, and surcharges are handled.
This summary is provided for convenience only. It does not replace the full policy below. By enrolling in a care plan, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted the full detailed policy.
The care plan covers only those consultations, home visits, reviews, injections, monitoring services, and other inclusions expressly stated in the client’s selected care-plan schedule. Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, the care plan does not include medications, prescription refills, pathology, imaging, procedures, consumables, urgent attendance, after-hours attendance, travel charges, referral costs, cremation, aftercare services, or third-party charges.
Where a care plan includes repeat monthly injections or similar recurring administration services, the professional administration fee for that included injection service is covered by the care plan. The medication itself is not included unless expressly stated in writing. Medication charges remain separately payable.
All medications, prescription items, veterinary products, and other dispensed goods supplied in connection with a care plan are charged separately unless expressly stated otherwise in the client’s care-plan schedule. Medication pricing is determined by XCura Mobile Vet having regard to acquisition cost, procurement costs, stock-holding, expiry risk, dispensing time, clinical oversight, record keeping, and mobile service overheads.
A dispensing fee applies per item to prescription medications and other dispensed items unless expressly waived by XCura Mobile Vet in writing. The dispensing fee covers prescription review, clinical safety checks, preparation, labelling, written directions, records, and dispensing administration.
If a medication or dispensed item is supplied outside standard weekday business hours, XCura Mobile Vet may charge an increased dispensing fee in accordance with its then-current surcharge schedule, including for weekday evening, weekend, and public-holiday dispensing. Unless otherwise stated by XCura Mobile Vet, these surcharge multipliers apply to the dispensing fee component and do not automatically apply to the medication acquisition component itself.
Any service, procedure, treatment, diagnostic test, travel charge, urgent attendance, additional professional time, or other item not included in the care plan will be charged separately. Where reasonably practicable, XCura Mobile Vet will provide an estimate before proceeding. By authorising treatment or supply, the client agrees to pay those additional charges.
The client acknowledges that a pet enrolled in a care plan may, from time to time, require medications, tests, procedures, or visits outside the routine care-plan inclusions. If such items are recommended on clinical grounds and accepted by the client, they will be charged in addition to the care-plan fee.
All care-plan fees, medication charges, dispensing fees, surcharges, and additional service charges must be paid in accordance with XCura Mobile Vet’s payment terms. XCura Mobile Vet may require advance payment, card pre-authorisation, or payment prior to attendance, dispensing, treatment, or release of medication.
XCura Mobile Vet may review and update care-plan fees, medication charges, dispensing fees, and surcharge rates from time to time. For new enrolments or new care-plan sign-ups, updated fees may take effect on not less than 30 days notice. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, any such fee change does not retrospectively alter the agreed care-plan fee for a client who is already enrolled in their current care plan.
The client acknowledges that veterinary medication and dispensing charges are not equivalent to general retail or online pharmacy pricing. XCura Mobile Vet’s charges reflect prescribing responsibility, procurement, storage, dispensing, compliance, record keeping, and mobile veterinary service delivery.
Special-order medications, compounded items, refrigerated items, and items ordered specifically for a patient may be non-returnable and non-refundable except where required by law or where XCura Mobile Vet determines otherwise.
All medications and services supplied under a care plan remain subject to veterinary clinical judgment, legal prescribing requirements, product availability, and patient suitability. A care plan does not guarantee that any particular medication, prescription, or treatment will be supplied if XCura Mobile Vet considers it clinically inappropriate, unsafe, unavailable, or outside legal prescribing requirements.
A care plan does not replace emergency or hospital care. If XCura Mobile Vet considers that the pet requires hospitalisation, emergency stabilisation, surgery, intensive monitoring, or other care beyond the scope of mobile practice, the client may be advised to attend or transfer to a veterinary hospital. Standard care-plan fees remain payable for services already provided.
By signing or accepting a care plan, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted this policy and agree to pay all care-plan fees and any additional medication, dispensing, surcharge, and service fees arising under the agreement.
