Ballajura lake walks, leash rules and useful observations

The City of Swan dog guidance lists both Emu Lakes and Central Lakes as places that are not off-leash dog exercise areas, so dogs must remain on lead there. This corrects the wording on XCura’s older Ballajura page, which incorrectly described them as designated dog-exercise areas.

After a walk around the lakes or another local reserve, a problem may become clearer once your dog settles at home. Note the exact time you first saw limping, repeated licking, a damaged nail, a tender paw, itching, a wound, coughing or unusual tiredness. If the sign comes and goes, a short video of normal walking, rising or breathing can preserve what you saw before the appointment.

For the visit itself, include the easiest parking place, house number, driveway, gate and entrance in the booking request. Bring your dog indoors before the arrival window. These details help Dr Noor carry the examination kit and medicines directly to the correct door and begin with your pet calm and secure.

Why a home visit can help Ballajura pets and families

Transport can add a second problem to veterinary care. A painful or older dog may struggle to climb into the car, while a frightened cat may hide when the carrier appears or arrive too stressed for its usual behaviour to be visible. A home consultation lets Dr Noor observe how the pet moves, rests and responds before transport changes the picture.

Home visits are also useful when several pets share the house or a family is balancing work, school and caring responsibilities. Keep animals that are not being examined in another room until they are needed, and list every pet requiring attention in the original request. This gives XCura the information needed to prepare the appointment correctly.

Your Ballajura appointment is with Dr Noor

Dr Noor is XCura’s founder and the veterinarian who attends the visit. He listens to the history, examines your pet and explains the likely causes, available care choices and expected costs.

Care may include treatment, medicine, sample collection or selected diagnostic tests, monitoring, follow-up or referral. Read about Dr Noor’s professional background.

Ballajura home-visit fees

The current weekday fee for one pet, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, is $175. It includes travel to your Ballajura address, Dr Noor’s assessment and preparation of the care plan. Additional pets, timing, priority, handling needs, medicines, tests and procedures can change the total.

Check the current XCura pricing page. Any applicable additional fee and expected charges are explained before confirmation.

How to request a Ballajura vet visit

  1. Send the booking form with your Ballajura address, preferred time, pet details, symptoms and when you first noticed the change.
  2. Dr Noor triages the sickest pets first and organises the day around clinical urgency, the travel route and appointments already arranged.
  3. XCura sends an arrival window and instructions for preparing your pet and the examination space.
  4. The initial request does not take payment. A secure payment link is provided after the appointment is organised.
  5. At your home, Dr Noor examines your pet and explains the findings, options and expected costs.

Preparing your Ballajura home and pet

  • Share clear parking, driveway, house-number, gate and entrance instructions.
  • Bring dogs indoors before the arrival window and keep their lead nearby.
  • Place cats in a small, secure room 15–20 minutes before arrival, before they can hide or escape outside.
  • Choose a quiet, well-lit area and gather medicine packets, records, test results, photographs and videos.
  • Mention a recent lake, reserve or neighbourhood walk if the timing may relate to the concern.
  • Tell XCura beforehand about bite history, defensive behaviour, handling difficulty, infection concerns or another safety issue.

Urgent and same-day vet requests in Ballajura

If your pet becomes unwell quickly, describe the first sign, when it began, whether it is changing and anything already given. Photographs or a short video can help show intermittent problems that are not always visible while the pet is resting.

Ballajura owners can request urgent help for vomiting, diarrhoea, pain, limping, wounds, broken nails, uncomfortable eyes or ears, coughing, restlessness, urinary changes, unusual behaviour or a worsening long-term condition.

For an immediate life-threatening emergency, travel directly to an open veterinary hospital.

We are forever grateful for the skill and compassionate care Dr Noor gave our beautiful girl (and us). With his ongoing support and oversight to ensure her comfort we had a further 10 days with her before we had to say goodbye. With our deepest thanks and appreciation to this most amazing vet.

Dr Noor is wonderful. My senior lab x mastiff, Sunny, was in pain and struggling to put weight through her back legs. I sent a request for a home visit late at night for the following morning. I received a response immediately and was booked in the next day. Dr Noor arrived within the allotted time and was so patient with Sunny who is anxious around new people. He was incredibly thorough in his examination and had all medications that Sunny needed to keep her comfortable with him. I was so impressed with the service provided and Dr Noor’s care for Sunny. New favourite vet! Would definitely recommend.

Highly rate Dr Noor. He was very kind and gentle with my 10 week old Puppy’s ear infection and helped her recover. She was a squirmy patient but Dr Noor was very patient with her and took the time to answer any questions I had. She was excited to see him again on the second visit so that is a big tick of approval!

Dr. Noor arrived in a timely manner to look after our groodle Toffee after making the booking on the same day. The booking system was easy and efficient. He took time to get to know our timid dog, working to gain her trust. We loved Dr. Noor's patience, kindness and all the time making it as stress-free for Toffee as possible. We will most definitely be re-booking with Dr. Noor with all our vet visits going forward. Highly recommend his professional services to anyone looking for a mobile vet.

Dr Noor is so incredibly kind, patient and truly cares about the wellbeing of your pet. If he is ever late for your appointment it’s only because he’s had to prioritise an emergency which means if your pet is ever in a similar situation you know he’ll do everything within his capacity to be their for them as promptly as possible, which is a really comforting thought.
